Euyrbia is a lesser-known goddess in Greek mythology, often associated with the primordial power of the sea and master of it. Eurybia means 'wild force' or 'broad strength'. Titan and elder Pontos, god of the sea, and Gaia, goddess of the earth, made Eurybia a deity tied to natural and primal forces.

I sought to capture the primordial power and profound mastery of the seas and nature’s ‘wild force’ and ’broad strength’ with raw texture, blues, whites and pearl white. Working with the idea of our human nature and the nature of all sentient creatures' primal instinct and inherent capacity to grow despite how chaotic the transformation process is.

Understanding that it is natural as water to flow into a new version of what we, in essence, are as we outgrow the old version.

This renewal process is raw, at times messy, and incredibly fertile, innate, and wise. Universal to our nature is the inbuilt knowledge that allows the new to grow and appropriate from what came before.
