The Auset Collection is a series of paintings of various sizes and a combination of works that are mixed media and marks one of my two styles, where I put the texture beneath the painting and my original style, where I work with acrylics and palette knives and create the texture by using thick paint. The unifying theme is I still work through an overwhelming emotion for each piece. Having the texture underneath allows me to have a spiritual rumination before letting the emotion dominate. In this collection, I’ve also been heavily preoccupied with Egyptian Mythology and the strength of the human spirit to overcome adversity.
