Heartbeat 1 and 2, are inspired by the title of Janet Frame's book 'You Are Now Entering the Human Heart.' I had an ultrasound on my heart as part of the testing for clinically diagnosing that I have functional seizures. I watched the screen as the lady talked me through it and couldn't stop thinking about how much the human heart is a beautiful and intricate work of art. It powers the body and the larger-than-life range of emotions we experience over a lifetime.
